It aims to present all aspects of design, including industrial design, fashion, interior design, printouts (also outdoor advertising), as well as graphic identification forms of companies and institutions.

£odz Design involves numerous exhibitions, workshops, meetings with designers and manufacturers, presentations of companies and institutions, "make me!" contest, a review of Polish and international schools, happenings around the town, as well as music gigs.

The festival aims to present Polish and international trends in design. It is going to present designers from Poland and other countries. It is also a great way of promoting Polish design in Poland and during significant international events.

All the festival events will take place in three Festival Centres, in a complex of 19th century factories on Tymienieckiego street, Patio Art Center WSHE and Manufaktura. As each year, many exhibitions will be shown in galleries, museums and cafes in the centre of Lodz.

During Festival there will be also shown for the first time in Poland rug from The Rock Collection designed by Micha³ Biernacki for Italian brand Moroso. The Rock Collection has been designed through a direct participation of nature. The series is based on the natura beauty of semiprecious stones. An interesting effect is achieved by combining the rigid surface of the stone with the soft structure of a handcrafted rug from wool. The carpet was shown for the first time in September of 2007 at Moroso showroom during the London Design Festival gaining great interest from viewers and press (British Blueprint, American Surface among others).

Festival will take place between 16th and 31st of October, whereas main weekend is planned between 16th and 19th of October.
